There are many methods of earning money from your website but this is my method.
The main target in running a website is getting your visitors to keep coming back, for example lets say that every month your getting a extra 50 unique visitors but none of them are repeat visitors so if your writing amazing articles that people are subscribing to they will come back this will be a even bigger boost in traffic it can practically double your unique count every month.
First of all you need to work on actually getting people their, this can be done using the art of search engine optimization, if you can get a higher page rank then more people will be finding your keywords.
Getting this page rank can be done many ways the main important one is links to and from your website, once your getting more and more links to your website Google figure that you’ve got to have some importance and therefore make your PR (page rank) higher meaning more and more visitors finding your keywords, keywords are another very important thing there are many ways to make Google give them more importance like in this article on making keywords stand out.
So I will add more about getting links, links are the most important part in getting a higher PR in Google there are so many ways in which this can be done for example getting links on forums, if your a webmaster then you more than likely use a lot of forums, personally back when I was beginning I was a member of three forums with over 1000 posts on each, so I went back and put a keyword rich anchor text in the signature of my account after i checked that the search engines could see it more about that another time though, this then brought me a lot more backlinks, I also subscribed to some more forums for example DigitalPoint if you have a website this can bring in some really good back links.
Another way would be taking advantage of some offers for example there are services out their that submit your website link to places like delicious thousands of times, which can bring in some good backlinks which could bring in some actual visitors and some more search engines.
Once all this is done the next part comes personally one of the hardest parts so far, putting adverts on your website I really dislike this part due to occasionally it can be hard to make them blend in.
For example a popular advertising tool is Google Adsense when you want to choose which one you want on your website you can choose background colours, border colours and text link colours this allows you to blend in the links to your website the idea is to make people not realise their clicking Google Adverts so its more accidental than purposely, it can take a lot of trial and error in where to place them, for example you will want to put a horizontal ad under a horizontal navigator so they think what they are clicking will keep them on your site or if the mouse is too low down they accidentally click your advert.
If you’ve got a large audience with trusted visitors then that method isn’t a recommended one, another idea is to use affiliate advertising, which normally gives you a percentage of what they sell from your visitors, this can be a good investment if you have a lot of visitors.
